James Matthews was born in Dallas, TX in 1969. When he was only one year old he suffered a terrible head
injury and was later diagnosed with epilepsy. For years he suffered from severe brain seizures and so was
perscribed (phenobarbital), an anti seizure medication with heavy narcotic like effects. This medication left him almost
completely unable to function in school and elsewhere in society. He was enrolled in "special education", labled
"stupid" and a "trouble maker" by students and teachers alike. His mother (a single parent), supported James and
his younger sister by working long hours waiting tables at a local restaurant and it was all that she could do to provide
food and shelter for her children. Life looked pretty hopeless, but one day God guided her to a small bi-lingual Baptist
Church in Ft. Worth called "El Buen Pastor" (The Good Shepherd). There she met Jesus and a Pastor named Tito who (along
with the church elders), laid hands on James and prayed for his healing. The change was as immediate as it was miraculous.
James was healed of epilepsy and from that day on he never had another seizure or took a single
dose of medication. Moreover, when he went for his regularly schedueled EEG (brain wave test), his brain waves were
perfectly normal with no sign of epilepsy. It was as if it had never happened, and not only was he healed of his seizures
but he went from "Special Ed" to advanced classes in that very same school year. More stunning still, he began to prophesy immediately
after the healing, and later to lay hands on people who were subsequently healed of diverse illnesses.
James and his family went twice to Mexico where he became a local celebrity and where the Devil tried to kill him on
more than one occasion. Later he and his family moved to Killeen, where he went to high school and eventually joined
the military. After he got out of the military he began to travel the country as the Spirit led him to study and preach
the Word of God. Everywhere he went God seemed to guide him and have His hand on him. People in need seemed to
gravitate to him. He always seemed to show up where and when he was needed most.
In 1999 he organized an Interfaith Summit Meeting which was attended by spiritual leaders from as far away as China and
New Zealand.
He has written numerous books including "Manifest Destiny" (a prophetic work), and "Greatness"
(what it means to be a Child of God), and a book of sermons and spiritual poems simply called "Anthology".
He is also the Author of the famous "Letters to America" and "Letters to Humanity"
the letters of hope and inspiration that are sent to the victims of disasters like "Katrina" and The Tsunami in Asia.
