Ministering to those who need Healing and comfort the most

Rev. James frequently visits local hospitals and nursing homes to offer prayer, comfort & companionship to people who are sick, injured, alone, and near death.  Conducting services and holding Bible readings on Sunday evenings, he brings the Promises of God to people who otherwise might not receive them.

Special Message from Rev. James:
The very first time I visited a nursing home the Lord really laid it on me.  I walked in and introduced myself to the first person I saw (a nurse named Jody, I think), and she just started spouting the names and room numbers of all the people that she felt that I should visit!  I knew instantly that I'd come to the right place.  I visited with 6 people that evening and prayed for 2 that were within hours of passing away, and left 3 hours later with a long prayer list and a great feeling of fulfilment.  About 3 or 4 days later I got a phone call from a man who's father I had prayed for.  He called to tell me that his father had passed only a few hours after I had left the nursing home.  He said that his father had been suffering for a long time and he felt like my visit and my prayers had given his father the strength and comfort that he had needed to finally let go.  He wanted to thank me and tell me how much it had meant to him to know that his father no longer suffered but had gone Home.
By the time I hung up the phone I had tears in my eyes.  I had gone in to that nursing home completely under the guidance of Spirit and had no idea what to expect, but one thing I certainly did not expect was to be virtually the last person that someone saw before they saw Jesus!

If anyone out there does not think that they can make a difference in this kind of ministry just think about this:  That man suffered for weeks waiting for someone to come and tell him that God loved him and that death would not be the end for him.   I believe that he had burdens on his heart that would not let him rest and in the moment that he accepted Christ into his heart he was finally able to lay those burdens down.  I believe that Heaven opened up to receive a soul that day that could not have entered had I not followed the prompting of Spirit and taken the time to  visit that nursing home.
